Allison Cashin submits Shadi Ghadirian

Biased in Tehran, Iran, Shadi Ghadirian photographs the roles of women in the Islamic world and internationally. Her images portray the female identity in a positive and hostel manner.  Ghadirian questions the woman's role and examines ideas of modernity, religion, and status in todays society. I admire how Ghadirian takes uses cultural references and amplifies them with subtle humor.
