Ezawa views photography as a graphic novel or rendering of fictitious history. He flattens photos into a two dimensional rendering as sort of a transformation into a more drawing style which for him has more symbolic representations. Drawings are more like text that the image is created through the graphic text. He uses his photographs and drawings to make two dimensional representations of the suggestions those object have in the three dimensional world. A lot of his art focuses on social commentary. I think that he has interesting concepts and ideas about the art he has created. However, I would not come to those conclusions without reading the artist statements. To the viewer, it appears more that the artist is concerned with how general shapes and forms interact to create a composition and social commentary. In that regards, his art is interesting to the viewer.
