At first glance, one would immediatly point to gay people but it is actually from a different viewpoint. The artist is trying to get the audience to question male behavior. Why is it comfortable for a straight man to pick up a woman but not a man and why is a straight man not comfortable being picked up by another man? Since the photograph is in black and white and the facial expressions are uncomfortable, she portrays the seriousness of this idea perfectly. However, why are they wearing suits out of all the options they could have worn?
